Marsh Fest 2018
March 2-4, 2018
Our community values and appreciates what it means to thousands of guests visiting each year. We are excited to share stories and enjoy everything that it means to be part of the hunting, fishing and outdoor recreational activities we have to offer in our own backyard.
Marsh Fest will take place at Winnie-Stowell Community Park in Winnie, Texas on March 2 -4, 2018. This inaugural event will launch in honor of Trevor Lee Chesson.
Activities at Marsh Fest include the Texas State Open Duck and Goose Calling contests, IBCA sanctioned BBQ and Wild Game Cook-off, food and commercial vendors, live music featuring Tracy Byrd and George Dearborne, children’s activities, mutton busting and local scholarship opportunities.
Hunting, fishing, bird watching and wildlife are some of the area’s most popular resources; Winnie Area Chamber of Commerce (WACC) is excited to bring Marsh Fest to the local community supporting various events, members and businesses throughout the year. Marsh Fest will also provide memorial scholarships to area schools including East Chambers, Hamshire-Fannett and High Island High Schools and donations toward the fishing teams for East Chambers and Hamshire-Fannett.
Marsh Fest 2018 will be the new host to the Texas State Open Duck Calling Contest. The duck and goose calling contest will bring some of the nation’s top competitors. The winner of the Texas State Open Duck Calling contest will receive entry to the World Championship Duck Calling contest in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
Winnie Area Chamber of Commerce (WACC) is still accepting applications for cook-off teams, vendors and sponsorship for this inaugural event.
