SH 73 TO FM 365

Texas Department of Transportation is currently widening IH 10 from SH 73 to Hamshire Road in Chambers and Jefferson County.
The widening will provide for 3 travel lanes eastbound, as well as 3 travel lanes westbound.

To accommodate this widening Brush Island Bridge Structure which crosses over IH 10, will be replaced with a new overpass.
Weather permitting, on the week of June 19th, demolition of the Brush Island Bridge Structure will require nightly closures of IH 10, FROM 9 pm TO 5 am.
During the closures, IH 10 mainline traffic between SH 73 and FM 365 will be detoured onto FM 365, SH 124 and SH 73,.
There will be signage and police enforcement along the detour route to accommodate the traveling public and promote safety.

The demolition requiring the closures is estimated to take 4 nights. The specifics are as follows:

June 19th Monday Night: IH 10 Westbound Traffic Detoured
June 20th Tuesday Night: IH 10 Eastbound Traffic Detoured
June 21st Wednesday Night: IH 10 /eastbound Traffic Detoured
June 22nd Thursday Night: IH 10 Westbound Traffic Detoured

Welcome to the Winnie Area Chamber of Commerce website

We are adding content, and putting every effort into making this website an invaluable resource for the community, business owners, and future businesses.

Chambers County is rapidly growing and the Winnie Area Chamber of Commerce works closely with the Commissioners Court to promote a desirable quality of life and economic environment that encourages business growth and opportunity.

Located between the metropolitan areas of Houston, Galveston, and Beaumont/Pt. Arthur, the Winnie area is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. Intersecting State Highways 124, 73, and Interstate 10, make Winnie an ideal location for industrial and business development, with easy access for distribution to many cities. With the Gulf of Mexico only 19 miles away, Winnie has become a destination area for saltwater fishing and “fun in the sun” recreation on the beach.

The Winnie area also offers excellent hunting opportunities, and for the “birders”, High Island, just 18 miles south of Winnie, is one of the top bird viewing areas in the country as migratory birds stop on the island during their winter travels. If antiquing is your hobby, Winnie is now a must-visit destination for the antiquer.
